This moist, tender pumpkin bread studded with chocolate chips gets a perfectly crisp crust from the air fryer. It’s a quick and easy fall treat that brings bakery-quality results in about 35 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (100% pure pumpkin)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 325°F (163°C). Line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt until evenly combined.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Fold gently with a rubber spatula until just combined (a few streaks of flour should remain).
  5. Fold in chocolate chips with a few gentle strokes. For even distribution, toss chips with 1 tablespoon flour before adding.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Tap pan gently on counter to release air bubbles. Optionally, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  7. Place pan in air fryer basket. Bake at 325°F for 25-30 minutes, checking at 22 minutes. Insert a toothpick into center; if it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, it’s done. If top browns too quickly, tent with foil.
  8. Remove pan from air fryer using oven mitts. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then lift bread out using parchment handles and transfer to a wire rack. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature eggs and do not overmix the batter. If your air fryer runs hot, check the bread at 20 minutes. The bread can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. For a dairy-free version, ensure chocolate chips are dairy-free.
