A simple, creamy, and budget-friendly homemade ice cream recipe that requires no ice cream machine and uses everyday pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 can (14 oz / 396 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional mix-ins: Β½ cup (75 g) chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Chill your mixing bowl and beaters in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
  2. Pour heavy cream into the chilled bowl and beat on medium-high speed with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form (3-5 minutes).
  3. In a separate bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt; stir gently to mix.
  4. Fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture carefully using a spatula to keep the airiness intact.
  5. Fold in any optional mix-ins gently.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a freezer-safe container, spread evenly, cover tightly, and place in the freezer.
  7. Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  8. Before serving, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to soften.

Notes

Chill bowl and beaters before whipping cream for best results. Fold whipped cream gently to maintain airiness. Let ice cream soften 5 minutes before scooping. Avoid over-whipping cream to prevent grainy texture. Keep freezer temperature steady.
