These crispy air fryer bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers with cheddar are a quick, easy, and crowd-pleasing snack that combines spicy jalapeños, creamy cheese, and smoky bacon, all cooked to perfection in the air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium fresh jalapeños, halved and seeded
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 12 thin bacon slices, cut in half
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wear gloves and slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise, carefully scoop out seeds and membranes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Using a spoon or small scoop, fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture without overstuffing.
  4. Wrap each filled jalapeño half with half a slice of bacon, securing the cheese inside. Use a toothpick if needed.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  6. Place poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until bacon is golden and crispy and cheese is bubbling.
  7. Let poppers rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.

Notes

Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation. Use thin bacon slices for best crispiness. Flip poppers halfway through cooking for even crisping. Do not overstuff the jalapeños to prevent filling leakage. For thicker bacon, partially cook before wrapping. If no air fryer is available, bake at 400°F (205°C) for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway.
