  • 8 ounces (225 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (about 100 grams) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 12 slices thin-cut bacon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash 12 medium jalapeños and dry well with paper towels. Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and carefully remove seeds and membranes with a spoon or small knife to control heat. Set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces softened cream cheese, 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well-blended. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Using a spoon or small scoop, fill each jalapeño half generously with the cheese mixture. Do not overfill to prevent filling from oozing out during cooking.
  4. Cut 12 slices of thin bacon in half crosswise (for 24 pieces). Wrap each stuffed jalapeño half with a bacon strip, securing the ends underneath or with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  6. Arrange the bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding to allow air circulation.
  7. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through with tongs to crisp bacon evenly. The bacon should be golden and crispy, and the cheese bubbly.
  8. Carefully remove the poppers and let them cool for 3-5 minutes before serving.
