These Easy Mummy Meatball Skewers are the perfect Halloween party appetizer—juicy meatballs wrapped in flaky crescent roll ‘bandages’ with gooey mozzarella centers and cute mustard eyes. Ready in about 30 minutes, they’re a crowd-pleasing treat that’s both fun and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen fully cooked meatballs (about 24 ounces)
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick into 6 small cubes (24 cubes total). Set aside.
  3. Partially thaw frozen meatballs at room temperature for 5-7 minutes until cold but not rock-hard.
  4. Open crescent roll dough cans, unroll, and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide) to get 24 strips total.
  5. Press a cheese cube into the center of each meatball. Wrap one dough strip around each meatball, leaving a small gap in front for the face. Place seam-side down on prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and meatballs are heated through.
  7. Let cool for 2-3 minutes, then use a toothpick to dab two small mustard dots on each mummy’s face for eyes.
  8. Thread 2-3 mummies onto skewers or toothpicks. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Keep dough and meatballs cold for easier handling. Cut dough strips thin (1/2 inch) to ensure even baking. Do not over-wrap—one strip per meatball is perfect. Let mummies cool slightly before adding mustard eyes to prevent smudging. For make-ahead, assemble unbaked mummies and refrigerate up to 24 hours or freeze for up to a month.
