Bright, fun, and healthy rainbow fruit skewers that turn snack time into a party. Perfect for preschool snacks, playdates, and busy mornings—ready in under 15 minutes with no cooking required.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 large navel orange, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 1 cup pineapple, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 23 kiwis, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
  • 1 cup seedless green grapes, washed and stemmed
  • 1 cup blueberries, washed
  • 1 cup seedless purple grapes, washed and stemmed
  • 810 wooden skewers (810 inches long)
  • Lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry all fruit thoroughly with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Prep the fruit by color: halve strawberries, cut orange into wedges, cube pineapple into 1-inch chunks, slice kiwi into 1/4-inch rounds, leave green grapes and blueberries whole, and halve purple grapes lengthwise.
  3. Arrange each fruit color in separate bowls: red (strawberries), orange (orange), yellow (pineapple), green (kiwi and green grapes), blue (blueberries), purple (purple grapes).
  4. Thread fruit onto skewers in rainbow order: start with a strawberry, then orange wedge, pineapple chunk, kiwi slice, green grape, blueberries, and finish with a purple grape half. Repeat for remaining skewers (makes 8-10).
  5. Check each skewer for sharp edges or splinters and smooth them down if needed.
  6. Arrange skewers on a serving platter in a fan pattern or rainbow arc. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Notes

Soak wooden skewers in warm water for 10 minutes before using to prevent splintering. For best results, assemble no more than 2-3 hours before serving. To prep ahead, cut fruit and store each color in separate airtight containers in the fridge, then assemble just before serving. If using apples or bananas, toss in lemon juice to prevent browning. For a fun presentation, stick skewers into a half watermelon or cantaloupe to create a fruit bouquet.
