This easy spiced peach butter small batch recipe captures the perfect blend of sweet peaches and warming spices, ideal for cozy fall mornings and last-minute hostess gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Peel, pit, and chop about 2 pounds of ripe peaches. If peaches are extra juicy, gently drain excess liquid.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine chopped peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup water, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon cloves, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Place the pan over medium-low heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently to prevent sticking or burning, scraping the bottom as needed. Cook for 30-40 minutes until the mixture thickens and peaches break down.
  4. Optional: Use an immersion blender to smooth the butter or leave it chunky. Be careful not to over-puree.
  5. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer to clean jars or airtight containers. The butter will thicken further as it cools.

Notes

Cook peaches over medium-low heat and stir frequently to avoid burning. Adjust sugar based on peach ripeness. Use a heavy-bottom pan to prevent scorching. For a smoother texture, use an immersion blender carefully. Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for longer storage.
