A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring sticky honey garlic glazed salmon and roasted asparagus, all ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for busy nights when you want a delicious, healthy meal without the fuss.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for asparagus
  • 1 bunch asparagus (about 1 pound), trimmed
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven. Let salmon fillets sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic. Set aside.
  3. Rinse asparagus and snap off woody ends. Pat dry. Toss with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet or in your skillet.
  4. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down (if using skin-on) and cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Flip salmon fillets. Pour honey garlic glaze over the top. Add seasoned asparagus around the salmon if using the same skillet. Transfer skillet to the oven and roast for 8-10 minutes, until salmon is cooked through and glaze is sticky.
  7. Check doneness: salmon should flake easily and reach 125°F to 130°F internally. Asparagus should be tender-crisp. Optionally broil for 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization.
  8. Remove from oven. Let rest 2-3 minutes. Drizzle with sesame oil if using, then garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best sear. Watch garlic to prevent burning. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness. Double the glaze if you love extra sauce.
